EcoAgriculture Partners is supporting local stakeholders in a number of regions considered to be ecoagriculture ‘hotspots’ – landscapes where conserving biodiversity, sustaining productivity and enhancing rural livelihoods are regarded as high priorities.
Within each of these ecoagriculture landscapes, activities are underway to support and strengthen cross-sectoral partnerships, knowledge exchange, and collaborative learning among stakeholders working within and making impacts on the landscape. Activities draw upon elements of all three of EcoAgriculture Partner’s programs: Understanding Ecoagriculture, Linking and Learning Among Innovators, and Promoting Policies and Markets that Support Ecoagriculture.
Activities include: mapping ongoing ecoagriculture activities at landscape and regional levels; documenting ecoagriculture innovations; landscape measures; and supporting the development of ecoagriculture knowledge/action networks that link practitioners and policymakers with knowledge, resources and collaborative opportunities they need to develop and enhance ecoagriculture in key landscapes.
In East Africa, EcoAgriculture Partners collaborates with multi-stakeholder groups in landscapes in Mt. Elgon, Kasese, Kabale, Kisoro, and Kayunga districts in Uganda; and the Kijabe, Aberdares, Mt. Kenya and Siaya in Kenya. Partners include:
