The Development Practitioners Forum is a 501(c)(3) organization founded by former DAI CEO Tony Barclay with the mission of building knowledge networks among practitioners in ways that tap development knowledge, preserve it, and put it to practical use. To serve this purpose, the Forum has developed InfoSpring, an online Q&A tool for development practitioners working in the integrated fields of sustainable agriculture, food security, climate change, and natural resource management. InfoSpring’s primary functionality allows users to organize around a problem-solving process that feeds knowledge from those who possess it to those who need it. InfoSpring is currently building its online community and the Forum is appealing for professionals in these fields to register and join the discussion and help add to the knowledge base. To join simply visit www.infospring.org.

In order to extend the Forum’s reach to practitioners who work primarily or exclusively offline, the Forum is also developing country chapters. These chapters, beginning with Liberia and Kenya, will be locally managed groups that facilitate knowledge sharing among local practitioners, harnessing SMS and other appropriate technologies to support physical meet-ups. For more information on any of the forums activities please visit www.devprac.org, or contact Community Manager David Nicholson, dnicholson@devprac.org.
